Rangel Family Goldens

Health Guarantee & Owner Responsibilities

At Rangel Family Goldens, we are committed to raising healthy, well‑socialized puppies and supporting our families with clear expectations and responsible‑breeding standards. Below is an overview of our Health Guarantee and the owner responsibilities required to maintain it.

1. Initial Health Guarantee (First 3 Days)

Your puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale, to the best of our knowledge. You have until the close of business on the third day after pickup to have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian.

If your veterinarian discovers a major inherent condition, you must:

·        Notify us immediately

·        Have your veterinarian email documentation to RangelFamilyGoldens@outlook.com

·        Allow us to confirm findings with our veterinarian.

If confirmed, you will receive a replacement puppy of equal value when one becomes available.

This guarantee does not cover: Injuries, accidents, parasites, food poisoning, or issues caused by negligence.

2. Congenital & Hereditary Guarantee (Until 1 Year of Age)

Your puppy is guaranteed until its first birthday against congenital or hereditary defects that:

·        Significantly impact health

·        Are expected to lead to death

If diagnosed:

·        A written veterinary certificate is required

·        A second opinion may be requested

·        A replacement puppy will be offered when available

3. Required Health Insurance

Owners must maintain 90/10 health insurance for their puppy, including surgical coverage. Proof of active insurance may be required for any replacement request.

4. Hip Dysplasia Disclaimer

Our puppies come from parents—and often generations—who have hip clearances. However:

·        Hip dysplasia cannot be guaranteed against

·        Even cleared parents can produce affected puppies

·        Golden Retrievers have a naturally higher risk

·        Genetics, growth, diet, and exercise all play a role

We cannot guarantee your puppy will remain free of hip dysplasia for life. Owners must avoid excessive or inappropriate exercise during growth.

5. Communicable Diseases

We do not guarantee against communicable diseases such as:

·        Parvo

·        Distemper

·        Coccidia

·        Giardia

·        Rabies

·        Other viral or bacterial infections

Puppies have immature immune systems, and stress can trigger outbreaks. Avoid public places and unknown dogs until 16 weeks of age.

6. Owner Responsibilities

Exercise

Puppies must not be over‑exercised. Use the guideline: 5 minutes of structured walking per month of age (e.g., a 5‑month‑old = 25 minutes/day).

Vaccinations

·        Avoid over‑vaccination

·        Follow the recommended schedule

·        Provide proof of proper vaccination for any replacement request

·        Consider titer testing

Feeding

While not required, we strongly recommend a high‑quality, human‑grade diet to support long‑term health.

7. Return‑to‑Breeder Policy

If an owner chooses not to keep a healthy dog, the dog must be returned to Rangel Family Goldens. No refund is provided, as time and resources are required to prepare a returned dog for a new home.

We are not selling merchandise — we are placing a family companion, and we expect owners to treat their puppy with the same level of commitment.

8. Final Agreement

No warranties or representations have been made except those stated in this agreement. By purchasing a puppy, the buyer acknowledges they have read and agree to all terms and conditions.
