About US
At Rangel Family Goldens, our passion is raising well‑rounded, purpose‑driven Golden Retrievers. Located in Garland, Texas—just 30 minutes from downtown Dallas—we proudly serve families throughout the DFW area and beyond. For more than 13 years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to producing exceptional service dogs, therapy partners, and beloved family companions.
Our program is built on structure, predictability, and calm development. Every puppy begins early crate conditioning, potty patterning, and independent play so they grow up confident, secure, and ready to transition smoothly into their new homes. We love what we do, and we’re honored to share our Goldens with families across Texas.
We’re a small Texas family with a big love for Golden Retrievers. Dogs have been part of our lives for as long as we can remember, and for the past 13 years we’ve dedicated ourselves to raising healthy, happy Goldens for families across Texas.
Our dogs live right inside our home with us—they have their own room, a large fenced yard to play in, and lots of daily interaction, training, and affection. Their well‑being is always our first priority.
Every Golden in our program is carefully selected for health, temperament, intelligence, and loving nature. All are AKC registered and DNA tested to ensure responsible breeding. Before any pairing, our dogs receive a full veterinary health exam.
We partner closely with Sachse Veterinary Hospital for all prenatal and postnatal care. Our moms receive progesterone testing, sonograms, radiographs, and ongoing monitoring, and every puppy is examined after birth.
Through years of hands‑on experience, we’ve learned that the foundation of a confident, well‑adjusted Golden Retriever begins with structure. Our puppies thrive on predictable routines, crate conditioning, early potty training, and plenty of independent play. We protect their 18–20‑hour daily sleep window and avoid overstimulation, allowing them to explore, settle, rest, and feel secure.
We handle each puppy multiple times a day during natural transitions—going outside, coming back in, and moving between play and rest. During these transitions, puppies form healthy neural pathways that support resilience and calm confidence. Outside of these moments, we allow them to explore, rest, and play independently. This balance of gentle handling and intentional independence is what shapes the calm, confident temperaments our families love.
One of the most important parts of our program is preparing families for the transition home. Each puppy goes home with a detailed, age‑appropriate packet that outlines their current routine and how to adjust it as they grow. We guide you through crate training, potty training, sleep schedules, feeding changes, and independent play so your puppy continues to thrive in your home.
Our goal is to give you the tools, structure, and confidence to support your puppy through every developmental stage.
We begin transitioning puppies to a twice‑a‑day feeding schedule early because Golden Retriever puppies are typically able to eat enough at each meal by about 5 to 5½ weeks. During this stage, mom continues to nurse as needed, offering comfort and supplemental calories while the puppies learn to rely more on their meals.
This creates a smooth, natural weaning process and prepares each puppy for the feeding routine they’ll follow in their new homes. Our puppies receive Diatomaceous Earth and Puppy Vitamins starting at 8–14 days old, regular deworming, and a full health exam. If you choose, they can also receive their first vaccination on the day they go home.
We believe in honesty and transparency. No breeder can guarantee a “perfect dog,” but we do everything possible to reduce risks and raise healthy, well‑socialized puppies. Our Goldens come in beautiful shades from light cream to deep red and carry European Show and American Field bloodlines. They are smart, eager to please, and naturally gifted retrievers—some of our past puppies have become service dogs, therapy dogs, and hunting partners.
To protect our puppies and moms, we follow a strict no‑visit policy. You can read our full Visitation Policy here → [Visitation Policy].
At Rangel Family Goldens, we believe structure builds confidence and confidence builds connection. Every puppy we raise is a reflection of that philosophy—calm, capable, and ready to thrive in family life.
