Breeding Background

Hi, we're Jennifer and Richard, owners of Rangel Family Goldens. We are a small family located in Texas who love breeding and adore our golden retrievers. We have over 10 years’ experience in breeding and 20 years' raising dogs. First and foremost, the health and well-being of our dogs and puppies are our top priorities. We take exceptional care of our dogs. They enjoy daily interaction with us which includes time to run and play, walks, training, and grooming. They live indoors with us, crave lots of attention, and have a large, fenced lot.

Why Rangel Family Goldens?

Our golden retrievers are carefully selected for good health, companionship, loyalty, intelligence, and loving temperament.  They are AKC registered and all our dogs are DNA genetic tested for proper mating. Each one of our dogs must pass a full veterinarian administered physical health exam prior to breeding. We have been careful to look for healthy parents that are home-raised (not puppy mills).  Our females we are breeding go through O.B. care with Sachse Veterinary Hospital; They do progesterone testing, and sonograms to make sure the health of the mom and pups are taken care of.  They also examine all the pups afterward.  We like to bond with each puppy and introduce them to a routine schedule for meals/sleeping/playtime and potty breaks outdoors. They are introduced to city noises outdoors and an indoor living environment with regular everyday noises. Our kennel is a small, well organized, and clean facility designated inside our home with us; not a puppy mill which we're strong advocates against. All Rangel’s puppies also receive supplement Diatomaceous Earth to help their joints, strengthen their bones, and cleanse them from parasites while in our care starting at 10-14 days old until they go home. They will have  a complete health exam, 3 worming treatments, and first round of vaccinations  prior to going to their forever home. Please understand there is no such thing as a ‘perfect dog’.  As Breeders we do our best to reduce the risk of genetic defects but there is always a risk when breeding that one can produce such defects.  It is simply impossible to avoid all genetic problems in a breeding program.  If any breeder tells you otherwise, they are not being truthful with you.

Our puppies will vary in color from light golden to dark golden which offers variety. All golden retrievers have different personalities and show them well. We do believe you make the difference in shaping their personalities as they mature and that when separated from litter and in your home their different and we recommend socializing and being active in their lives daily.

Our Goldens are of European and American Bloodlines which make the most beautiful golden retrievers with loving temperaments. They are born with excellent retriever instincts, intelligence, and have lots of love for their owners whom they are eager to please. They can make good service dogs with proper training, and some make good hunters. You and your Golden will be the envy of everyone in the field or at the dog park.

We do not allow customers to come to our location per the recommendation of our Vet due to the risk of Canine Parvovirus and other diseases young puppies are susceptible to before getting fully vaccinated. We are very careful to keep these puppies healthy for all our customers so we take these precautions to protect them so they can go home healthy. We do, however, offer Face Time for you to be able to see live puppies if you request when it is time to select or to see parents when placing deposit. Most of our customers select puppies by pictures or videos, which will depend on our reservation list and can start at 3 weeks or as late as a few days prior to pick up if spots are all reserved. We are willing to meet in a public location when we have available puppies, if you want to see a live puppy before placing deposit, but you will not be able to hold them due to the risk it can bring to our litter when we return home (unless older and taking home at meet).
